Grieg Seafood marked another milestone last week at its operation in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador (NL), harvesting and processing the first generation of Atlantic salmon from its Placentia Bay sea cages
The Norwegian company said in a press release issued Monday (Oct. 30) that salmon were harvested from its Red Island cages and shipped to the Quinlan Brothers Ltd. factory in Bay de Verde for packing. The undisclosed number of fish had earlier been transferred to two of its ocean farms after spending about a year at Grieg's freshwater and smolt facility in Marystown [...]
