Bakkafrost considers bond issue, including to finance potential acquisitions

Faroese salmon producer Bakkafrost said it is considering issuing unsecured bonds in the Norwegian bond market.

The bond's proceeds would be used for "general corporate purposes, including financing of potential future acquisitions", said the company in a note to the Oslo stock exchange.

Nordea Markets is engaged as manager for the issuance.

Last December the company's CEO Regin Jacobsen told Undercurrent News the group would continue to look for downstream acquisitions to get closer to its markets, after announcing a deal to buy Faroe Seafood's UK sales office.
