MSC is launching a new film explaining the work it does through standards and the requirements it expects for certification.

Sustainable Seas features interviews from scientists, fisheries and environmental organisations demonstrating how fisheries are evaluated, what certification means for fisheries and the environmental benefits.

“We hope that the Sustainable Seas film will demonstrate the MSC environmental standards in an enjoyable and informative way and be an educational tool for scientists, fisheries, policy makers and environmental science students,” MSC standards director David Agnew said in a statement.

The ten-minute documentary filmed in southern England, Scotland and South Africa, uses animation to explain the MSC sustainability standards as well as exploring the scoring system it has developed.
